Yellow Pages recycling creates funds to plant trees

Schoolchildren across Three Rivers have been busy recycling old Yellow Pages directories again this year, winning hundreds of pounds for their schools and raising enough money to plant and care for 70 native trees across England, one of the least wooded countries in Europe. 22 local schools.

Filming crew damages driveway
 

Compensation for damage caused in filming

A local Rickmansworth businessman been awarded £79,000 after his home, which he rented out for a film starring Bond actor Daniel Craig, was damaged by a production company. Glen Haysman, of Rickmansworth, told the High Court that extensive damage was caused to the driveway and interior of the four-bedroomed property in 2007.

It's official: Three Rivers recycling crew is best in UK

If you live in Three Rivers, the crew who collect your household's recycling could be the national Crew of the Year! On Thursday October 16, crew members Tom Harris, Darren Aaron and Martin Rolls were awarded the coveted Recycling Crew of the Year Award at the Let'sRecycle.com award ceremony, at the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair.

St Michael's school wins waste aware competition

We're waste aware, say pupils

St Michael's Catholic High School in Garston has shown itself to be the greenest school in Three Rivers for the second year running, after again winning second place in a competition run by WasteAware, the Hertfordshire Waste Partnership. The school won £500, which was donated by paper recycling company Aylesford Newsprint.
