Chairman meets classmates at Parmiters

On Thursday September 11, Chairman of Three Rivers District Council Chris Lloyd visited Parmiters School to talk to the Upper Sixth. Councillor Lloyd spoke to the group of young people about his role as Chairman, the services local Councils provide, getting more involved in their community and their hopes for the future.

Councillor Lloyd's broad presentation went down well with the students, who gave very positive feedback on the informative session. Councillor Lloyd said:

"It was great to have the opportunity to visit Parmiters and meet the Upper Sixth, I really enjoyed my visit and learning about the vision and opportunities that the school provides."

The Chairman's talk also proved interesting for staff. Second Master, Mr Paul Kitchiner, said:

"Councillor Lloyd covered a broad range of issues and surprised the students not only with the variety of tasks undertaken by the Chairman of the District Council, but also by the work of the authority and the issues it addresses. Students in all schools would benefit from hearing his presentation."

Councillor Lloyd would like to visit all Secondary Schools in Three Rivers and is in the process of arranging visits to Rickmansworth School.
