Rickmansworth has been the home for publishing company Active Magazines for last three years. The company specilaises in providing business-to-business magazines for a number of industries in the UK. Its wide range of titles include Windows Active, Conservatories Active, Housing Active and Water Active. These magazines are produced in print and interactively. The interactive versions are produced using unique software that allows the reader to view the magazine in an A4 format within the web browser. Each page is turned within the browser and demonstrated in the latest issue of Windows Active at www.windowsactive.com.

Active Magazines also provide a wide range of publishing services for businesses. The publishing services division is able to provide clients with corporate and customer newsletters in print or interactive format. The in-house team of journalists and designers are able to create newsletters that enable clients to communicate with their clients and customers. This division of Active Magazines is also able to provide public relations activities in the form of press releases and articles for clients.

Director John Cowie is keen to expand Active Magazines publishing and associated activities: “Over the last three years we have become market leaders in the sectors we publish business-to-business journals into. Through contacts in these markets we have been providing clients with additional services such as customer and client newsletters. We are looking to expand activities in this area of the business and are actively seeking new clients locally who we can provide newsletter and public relations services for.”
