Pilot scheme for business recycling
February 12th 2008
This week Three Rivers District Council have launched pilot recycling collection scheme for local businesses. The scheme follows on from the successful household recycling scheme the council run.

The scheme will initially focus upon the collection of cardboard with the first collection taking place this Friday (15 February) and if successful, the scheme is likely to be rolled out to over the whole of the Three Rivers district.
Thirty businesses have signed up for the trial and many are encouraged that the scheme can be a big success.
Councillor Phil Brading, Portfolio Holder for Public Services and Health, said:
"The business sector creates a lot of waste that still goes to landfill at the moment, so we're delighted that the Council is now able to offer this trial recycling service which will help local businesses reduce their impact on the environment."
Three Rivers already has a strong reputation for recycling, last year the council maintained its position as the best council in Hertfordshire for recycling. With over 44% of all domestic waste being recycled or composted, the district is already exceeding government targets set for 2010.
The Council is working to encourage residents and businesses alike to reduce, re-use and recycle. More information can be found at www.threerivers.gov.uk or by calling 01923 776611.
